Sea temperature - Makarska

The temperature of the sea in Makarska is mostly determined by the number of sunny hours, but also by the wind (especially the bora) that descends from Biokovo to the city of Makarska. The bora is still rarer, weaker and shorter during the summer months, but still strong enough to suddenly lower the sea temperature in Makarska by several degrees Celsius. Because of this, the sea temperature in Makarska is often lower than the sea temperature in Baška Voda, a place only 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away from Makarska. The sea temperature in Makarska is similar to the average sea temperature in Croatia and the average sea temperature in Dalmatia.
